Our story

Jesse founded Workflowy in 2010 after being frustrated with existing project management software. His job at the time was complex and he needed something to keep track of dozens of active projects.

He created a simple, flexible and fractal system that allowed him to quickly capture information and organize it in a fast and natural way. The system quickly proved useful for many other things besides taking notes and became Workflowy.

Today, we work hard to further develop and refine Workflowy to provide our users with the best platform to take their ideas and bring them to reality.

Workflowy’s infinitely nesting note system sparked a wave of clones and created a new note-taking app category in 2010 when it first launched.

Our community

We’re incredibly fortunate to be part of the enthusiastic, vibrant group of folks that make up the Workflowy community. Our users constantly collaborate, share ideas, and help each other improve their note-taking and organization systems.

10% of our subscribers have been with us for at least 5 years, that’s an eternity in our industry.
