Readwise collects highlights from books, articles, tweets, podcasts, and other reading sources. Connect it to Workflowy to bring those highlights into a structured outline automatically.

Connect your Readwise account to sync your highlights from books, articles, tweets, and podcasts into Workflowy.

# Connect Readwise

You need a Readwise account and a Readwise access token.

1. Open [readwise.io/access_token](https://readwise.io/access_token).
2. Create an access token and copy it.
3. Open [Workflowy's Readwise settings](https://workflowy.com/integrations/readwise/).
4. Paste the token into **Readwise access token**.
5. Select **Connect to Readwise**.
7. Workflowy creates a **Readwise** item in your Workflowy account.

# Keep highlights in sync

Workflowy checks Readwise every hour for new highlights. To request an update sooner, return to [Workflowy's Readwise settings](https://workflowy.com/integrations/readwise/) and select **Sync now**.

Previously imported highlights are not duplicated.

# Disconnect Readwise

Open [Workflowy's Readwise settings](https://workflowy.com/integrations/readwise/) and select **Disconnect**. Existing content remains in Workflowy, but new highlights stop importing until you reconnect.

If Workflowy reports that your token is no longer valid, disconnect Readwise, create or copy a valid token, and connect it again.
