By using the AI-powered features within Workflowy (“the App”), you agree to the following terms and conditions (“AI Terms”):
1. AI Feature Overview
Workflowy offers optional AI-powered functionality (“AI Features”) to help users generate, edit, summarize, and improve content within their Workflowy documents. These features are enabled via integrations with third-party Large Language Model (LLM) providers.
2. Third-Party Processing and Sub-Processors
To deliver AI functionality, Workflowy engages third-party service providers (“Sub-Processors”) who operate advanced LLMs. When you use AI Features, relevant content is securely transmitted to these Sub-Processors for processing.
Sub-Processors act on Workflowy’s behalf and are contractually required to process your data solely for the purpose of providing AI functionality, in accordance with applicable data protection laws and Workflowy’s data processing agreements.
3. Types of Data Shared
When using AI Features, the following types of data may be shared with Sub-Processors:
• Content you input into the AI Features (e.g., prompts, selected text)
• Contextual information required to generate accurate outputs
Workflowy does not share your identifiable profile information (user name, email, password, billing, or payment card details) or unrelated content with Sub-Processors. You should avoid entering sensitive personal, financial, or confidential business information into AI prompts.
4. Use of Data and Responsibilities
Data submitted to AI Features is used solely to generate and return AI responses. Sub-Processors are not authorized to use your data for model training or any other secondary purposes.
By using Workflowy’s AI Features, you acknowledge and agree that your use is also subject to the data handling terms and conditions of the applicable Sub-Processors’ APIs. These may include, but are not limited to, policies on data retention, storage, and usage defined by each provider.
We encourage you to review the terms and privacy policies of these providers before using AI Features.
5. Opting Out of AI Features
Use of AI Features is optional. If you prefer not to have your data transmitted to third-party providers, you may choose not to use the AI Features or disable them in your settings where applicable.
6. Limitation of Liability
AI Features are provided “as-is” with no guarantees of accuracy, performance, or suitability. You are solely responsible for reviewing and verifying the content generated through AI Features.
Workflowy disclaims all liability for any loss or damage arising from the use of AI Features or third-party processing of your data.
7. Updates to These Terms
Workflowy may update these AI Terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page, and continued use of AI Features constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
