The 7 habits is a book written by Stephen Covey in 1989. Despite being written more than three decades ago, it continues to attract new readers and serves as a fundamental text in the self-help space.
In the book Stephen outlines how through the alignment of internal values with external universal principles - the reader can experience a paradigm shift that leads them to become highly effective at reaching their goals. The ultimate goal is to progress from being dependent on others to becoming independent and then later interdependent and able to cooperate with others.
The seven habits Stephen presents are grouped into three sets that each focus on a specific habit that Stephen wants the reader to develop. The first three habits are focused on the habit on moving the reader from a state of dependence to one of independence, then next three with going from being independent to being interdependent, and the final habit is meant to assist with maintaining and continuing the progress made.
The template contains the seven habits in a board format. Each habit takes up a column on the board and contains a short summary to remind you of that habit's objective. You'll also find a list of activities for each habit.
The idea is that you can start from the first habit, read the summary, then open the list of activities and start working your way through them. Each activity listed contains a description and is meant to develop the habit they're listed under. Once you feel ready to move on to the next habit you can move on to the next habit and begin practicing it.
