# When to use

Use Email to Workflowy when you want to capture something without switching apps. It keeps incoming ideas and information with the rest of your Workflowy content.

Create a unique email address for destinations such as **Today** in your Workflowy [Calendar](/help/plan-with-calendar), **Inbox**, or any node with a [Shortcut](/help/jump-to#create-a-shortcut-from-jumpto). Email sent to an address is added to that destination.

The feature works with shared nodes and is free for all users.

Workflowy provides three default email destinations: **Today**, **Tomorrow**, and **Next Week**. These items are created the first time you email them. Supported Markdown is displayed correctly in your account.

# Create a unique email address

Give an item a [Shortcut](/help/jump-to#create-a-shortcut-from-jumpto) to make it appear in your email destination list. Without a Shortcut, you can email only the default locations: **Today**, **Tomorrow**, and **Next Week**.

1. Open the [Email to Workflowy settings page](https://beta.workflowy.com/integrations/email-to-wf/).
2. Select **Enable** to give the item a unique Workflowy address.
3. Send an email to this address from an approved sender.

> You can reset the unique email address at any time.

# Approve a sender

Only approved email addresses can send content to your unique Workflowy addresses. This prevents unapproved senders from adding content to your account.

You can remove an approved sender by selecting **Remove**.

1. Open the [Email to Workflowy settings page](https://beta.workflowy.com/integrations/email-to-wf/).
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
3. Enter an email address.
4. Select **Approve sender**.
5. Send emails from the approved address to your unique Workflowy addresses.
