MFA (Multi-factor authentication)
Learn to use multi-factor authentication to protect your Workflowy account.
When to use
MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) in Workflowy adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring a second verification step - typically a 6-digit code from an authenticator app.
Even if someone has your password, they can't log in without this code. Setup requires saving recovery codes in case you lose access to your device.
It’s a powerful way to keep your data safe and your account protected.
Turn on MFA
Please note: Please make sure you understand how MFA works before turning it on. If you don't follow the instructions correctly, you run the risk of losing access to your account if you lose access to your authentication device or recovery codes
We recommend Authy, 1Password, or LastPass for your authenticator app. We do notrecommend Google authenticator.
During the setup process, you will be asked to save recovery codes. If you lose access to your authentication device, these codes are the only way to log back into your account so please save them.
Turn off MFA
View recovery codes
You can access your recovery codes after the MFA setup process from the settings panel.
Generate new recovery codes
Please note: This will render any current recovery codes useless, so be sure to save the new ones you generate.
