Sharing in Workflowy works at the node level. You can share any node and everything nested inside it, while the rest of your document stays private. This means you don't need a separate workspace for things you want to collaborate on — you can keep everything in one document and share only what's relevant.

Sharing a node

Open the bullet menu on any node and choose Share. You can invite people by email or generate a secret link. Anyone you share with sees only that node and its children.

When sharing you choose what they can do:

• View (read only)
• Edit (add and change content)
• Full Access (edit and share with others).

Exporting

Any node can be exported as plain text, formatted text, markdown, or OPML. Open the bullet menu and choose Export to download the node and all its children.

Tip: Sharing a node with a client or teammate is a good alternative to sending a document by email. They always see the current version, and you can adjust permissions or revoke access at any time.
