Workflowy AI gives you three ways to work with AI inside your document:

1. Chat with your Notes, an interface for questions and conversation.
2. AI Nodes for generating content inline.
3. Quick Actions for fast operations on any node.

Chat with your Notes

Click the AI button in the bottom right to open the chat. You can ask questions about your notes, make connections between ideas, or just think something through. Workflowy AI can reference your notes and show you where a specific piece of information comes from.

By default, chat has access to all your notes. To focus on what's currently on screen, click "Use this page only" before sending your message. You can also start a chat about a specific node by typing /Chat on that item.

It's worth starting a new chat for each new topic. It keeps past conversations easy to find and helps the AI give more accurate replies as conversations get longer.

AI Nodes

Type /Ai node anywhere in your document to create an AI node. Type a prompt and hit 'Send'. The node uses the surrounding content as context, so you can ask it to summarise a section, rewrite something, or generate content based on what's nearby. Accept the result to keep it, reject it to discard it, or regenerate to try again.

Quick Actions

Type /Ai on any node to see a list of premade AI actions: things like summarise, expand, or rewrite. Quick actions are designed for speed and run directly on the node without any setup.

Tip: AI nodes are useful when you want to process or transform a specific section of your document. Chat is better for broader questions or when you want to draw on notes from across your whole account.
