MFA (Multi-factor authentication)

MFA (Multi-factor authentication)

Multi-factor authentication is when a user must provide two or more pieces of evidence to verify their identity to gain access to an app or digital resource.

So if a hacker gains access to your login ID and password, they still can't login without the second authentication method.

Please note: Please make sure you understand how MFA works before turning it on. If you don't follow the instructions correctly, you run the risk of losing access to your account if you lose access to your authentication device or recovery codes

Turn on MFA

We recommend Authy, 1Password, or LastPass for your authenticator app. We do not recommend Google authenticator.

During the setup process, you will be asked to save recovery codes. If you lose access to your authentication device, these codes are the only way to log back into your account so please save them.

1. Choose and download an authenticator app
2. Click the options button in the menu bar
3. Click the “Settings” option
4. Toggle the “MFA” setting
5
. Enter your password and click “Confirm password
6. Click on “Setup MFA
7. Copy and save your recovery codes somewhere safe
8. Click the “Next” button
9. Open the authenticator app you chose
10. Scan the QR code using your authenticator app
11. Click the “Next” button
12. Enter the six digit number code from your authenticator app
